Your HSA or FSA may already cover this
We've partnered with Truemed so qualified customers can use pre-tax HSA/FSA dollars on eligible BeWell apparel. Not everything in our shop qualifies - here's exactly what to look for and how it works.

We built BeWell for exactly this moment
BeWell exists for people navigating chemo, infusion, and dialysis, and for the people who love them. Truemed gives qualified customers a way to make that a little more affordable, using money they've already set aside. That's the whole reason we said yes.
There's real engineering and premium materials behind every access point, and it adds to the price. We know that, and it's exactly why paying with money you've already set aside helps, even if it's just a little.
From cart to Letter of Medical Necessity
Truemed runs alongside our normal checkout. Nothing changes about how you shop until the payment screen.
What is a Letter of Medical Necessity?
It's what makes an item a qualified medical expense in the eyes of the IRS, similar to a prescription. An independent licensed practitioner issues it after reviewing your health survey. It's valid for 12 months from the date it's issued.
Can I use my HSA/FSA card directly at checkout?
It's possible, but we recommend a regular card first and reimbursing yourself after - it's the most reliable path. Truemed emails you instructions either way.
The line tells you everything you need to know
We tag every eligible product ourselves. See the line on a product page, and it's in the program. Nothing to guess.
Tagging tells you what's in the program - it's a fact about our catalog, not a promise about your purchase. Whether a specific order is ultimately reimbursed still depends on your health survey and an independent practitioner's review.
What patients and nurses say
These are real BeWell reviews about the products themselves, not about the HSA/FSA program. We're sharing them here because they speak directly to why these pieces function as medical apparel.
My dialysis nurse told me she wishes more patients wore these - the arm zippers make accessing arm fistulas really easy.Karen S., BeWell customer
I get home infusion every 8 weeks and love the BeWell tops. It's easy access for my nurse.Theresa B., BeWell customer
The nurses that treated her during chemo were thrilled at the ease of access.Carol K., BeWell customer
Pre-tax dollars go further
Qualified customers who pay with HSA/FSA funds save an average of 30%* versus paying with post-tax dollars.
Why it works: HSA/FSA money comes out of your paycheck before income tax touches it. Spending dollars that were never taxed is the savings - not a discount applied at checkout.

HSA/FSA at BeWell, answered
What are HSA and FSA accounts?
Health savings accounts (HSA) and flexible spending accounts (FSA) let you set aside pre-tax dollars for eligible healthcare expenses. If you're not sure whether you have one, check with your employer or insurance provider.
How do I know if a product qualifies?
We tag eligible products ourselves, so the line is a direct answer, not a guess. Right now that's our IV Access, Port Access, PICC Line, and Multi-Access hoodies and robes. Your health survey and practitioner review still determine whether your specific order is reimbursed.
Can I use my HSA/FSA card directly at checkout?
It's possible with Truemed, but we don't recommend checking out with your HSA/FSA card directly, for compliance reasons. We strongly encourage using your regular credit or debit card and submitting for reimbursement as outlined above - it's the best path to a smooth outcome.
Can I use my regular credit card at checkout?
Yes. If you'd rather use your regular credit card, Truemed will send you instructions on how to submit for reimbursement from your HSA/FSA administrator.
What is a Letter of Medical Necessity, and how is this compliant?
The items in your Truemed Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) become qualified medical expenses, the same way a visit to a healthcare provider or a prescription would. Adaptive apparel built around a specific medical access need, like IV, port, or PICC line access, can qualify when an independent licensed practitioner confirms that need through your health survey. Your Truemed LMN satisfies IRS requirements to make that purchase reimbursable.
Are there fees for using Truemed?
There's no separate fee - the cost of Truemed's service is included in the purchase price of eligible items.
When should I use my FSA/HSA dollars?
Anytime you have a qualifying purchase in mind - there's no set season. FSA dollars are the one to watch: for most plans, unused funds expire December 31 and don't roll over, so it's worth spending what's left before the deadline.
Can I use Truemed's services for past purchases?
No. Truemed can only issue a Letter of Medical Necessity when you complete their health survey at checkout, before or on the day you buy - it's an IRS requirement, and they can't backdate one. Choose "Truemed - pay with HSA/FSA" while placing your order. If you've already ordered and missed it, reach out to us and we'll see what we can do.
How long does it take to get my LMN?
Generally 24-48 hours. In some cases, Truemed's practitioner team needs more time depending on your individual health survey. If you don't see it in your inbox, check spam, then reach out to Truemed's support team for help.
I don't have an HSA or FSA. Can I still shop with BeWell?
Of course - everything in our shop is available with a regular card. Truemed simply gives HSA/FSA holders another way to pay for the pieces that qualify. If you're not sure whether you have an HSA or FSA, ask your employer about your options.
I don't live in the US. Can I still get reimbursed with Truemed?
Unfortunately, Truemed is currently only available in the United States.
